Update: College, Internship and Winterhearth!

Greetings, Darklings! I apologise for the slight delay in posts. I thought I’d update you guys on where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing as mundane as my life is. While I'm here, I thought I’d let you know that I'll be posting every Monday and Thursday.
Okay, so where do I start? The past two weeks have been jam-packed with an abundance of college work. It got to the point where I was spending every night after college in the library trying to fire through as much work as I possibly could and I'd end up getting home after 9pm. Like many others, I’m far too familiar with procrastination - it's a burden. Strangely enough, I feel that I work best under pressure... pushing down on me. Pressing down on you, no man ask for... DAMMIT WOMAN, STOP.

My personal statement was also due in this week along with the completion of UCAS which wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be. What a surprise! I always find it difficult getting started on an essay or an assignment but when three hours have passed and I've tackled the blankly-staring-at-the-screen-until-the-introduction-has-been-constructed stage, I end up going over the word limit by 6,000 words or so... the bane of my life. Whilst I was browsing through University choices, I discovered the lack of BA/BA Hons courses in Glasgow so I may have to do a wee bit of adventurin'. My initial reaction was: "Sorry! I don't want any adventures, thank you. Not today." But, we’ll see what happens!

Last month, I was selected along with four other Media students from my college to undertake a two week internship in the coming March with EQTR, Scotland's largest and number one independent Digital Marketing agency whom specialise in Design, Web Development, Digital Marketing and Social Media. This is an opportunity that I'm eager to get my teeth into as I'm not only pushing myself out of my comfort zone but it will be highly beneficial when it comes to experiencing the competitive side of the media first-hand.

I recently discovered a band called Winterhearth and became friends with one of their guitarists/vocalists whom was kind enough to send me one of their shirts and a patch for my battle jacket. They're an Extreme Metal act from Newfoundland whom fall into the Technical Black/Thrash Metal genre. They're influenced by a few of my favourite bands; Mayhem, Napalm Death, Slayer, Immortal, Venom, Bathory, Deicide, Megadeth, Morbid Angel, etc. If you're a fellow metaller then I'm sure you'll dig them as much as I do. I'll be featuring a post on them very soon so be on the lookout for that if you’re interested.

That's pretty much all that has been happening in my life lately other than the fact that I've been hooked on Scrubs, The IT Crowd, Family Guy and The Inbetweeners. They've been a great pick-me-up on the days that I've not been feeling too great. I always go through a period of time where I want to deactivate all of my social media accounts and take a break from the world for a little while so that I can invest my time in writing and living in a wee world of my own but it's not really ideal at the moment. I've been feeling very nostalgic lately thus I’ve been contemplating repurchasing a PS2 primarily for Tony Hawk's: Underground, the Silent Hill games and The Simpsons: Hit and Run to cheer me up a little. I also want to a power through a mountain of books that I’ve not gotten around to reading yet so hopefully now that things have calmed down, I'll be able to get back into the swing of things and I'll have more posts up for you guys. If you have any suggestions in regards to the sort of things you'd like me to review, feel free to leave a comment below.
